blackmagic

http://www.blackmagic-design.com/pro...videorecorder/

thinking of using one of these with my H1
for the purpose of getting better 4:2:2 color
(Some of the work I do is specifically for the Web)
but, there seems to be a Full Resolution button.

the SDI is not HD SDI, but it says the video is capable of recording 1024.

might not there be a way to record HD video
with wider colorspace through one of these...?

Alas,
it's so close, is there no cigar here?

Dear John,

The SDI version of the Blackmagic recorder states that it records SD-SDI only, not HD-SDI.

Both of these are very interesting devices, but neither will handle the 4:2:2 HD-SDI signal out of an XL H1.

Dear John,

I was really surprised by these two devices.

Maybe BlackMagic will come out with a HD-SDI version, or a version that will support the HD component outputs of most HD cameras.
