Record Sony to xlh1 ???

Good afternoon,

Today i was doing something I have done in the past, but now with two hdv camcorders.

I am wanting to transfer video shot on the sony fx 1000 and recapture it on my xlh1.

I used to do this on my gl2 to my xl2.

I followed all the directions for both cameras using the fire wire linc. All I get on the xlh1 is dark screen. once the sony is playing I pushed the record pause and then the record on the handle. I see flickers continually., but no image.

Just to be sure I played the tape in the canon and it played fine. sony says it was recorded in hdv, canon prved it was.

hdv is read on both cameras

I wonder if there is a setting I am missing?

Any advice would be appreciated immensely!!

Oh yea, there is no device control but I kind of expected that.
