6x wide angle lens (used?)
 

I want to get the wide angle lens for my camera. I checked the classified section here but can't find any used. I can't afford the $2500 for new. Any idea's of where to look for pre-owned lenses? I'd prefer something from a store rather then an individual so I can have some piece of mind that the optics are still in top notch condition.

I have the EF lens adapter that I got with the camera. My problem is I'm really not that good so I'd like to stick with the XL lenses so the auto focus and everything else works seamlessly. I'd like to sell the adapter and put it towards the new lens.

Any advice?

That lens is brilliant. I never remove it.

I got one from ebay for $610 (brand new, never opened, from Birns & Sawyer).

I had been searching online for about 4 months before the right deal came up. That lens had been sitting at $150 with only a few bids with no reserve on it for about a week. I only bid when there was about 5 minutes left on the clock, and came out on top.

The deals are out there but you have to keep searching and be patient.

I recently got a P+S Technik Mini35-400 from a member here for $700! Not so long ago those things were trading secondhand at around $5000 to $6000.

Keep your eyes peeled.

If you want to make a serious "Want to Buy" inquiry, definitely please put a post in the Private Classifieds forum. BTW, I have a 6X I may decide to sell soon, but Simon got lucky...no way would I part with mine for anything near $610!!!

The Canon XL HD 6X AF zoom lens is a fantastic chunk of glass! One of my favourites.
