What Video Editing Apps Support H1 NOW

Cineform is working on a solution...Anyone have a functional 24f solution right now?

David Newman December 12th, 2005 10:31 AM

YES! CineForm shipped that upgrade last Friday. Aspect HD 3.4 directly supports the Canon 24F mode for a 24p workflow. Download the trial from www.cineform.com.

edius 3.6 has full support of the h1

Thanks guys...does either solution offer the ability to export a preview to an LCD monitor while keeping the timeline visible on another screen?

David Newman December 12th, 2005 01:29 PM

Both do. The Canopus NX hardware should be able to do that (certainly has component HD outputs) and Aspect HD is software solution but is works with inexpensive graphics cards that do that (like the Nvidia FX540 and Matrox Parhelia AVPe.)

edit the h1 footage with edius like you would edit with any other dv nle, with rt output to hd monitor..

Well, I don't own an HD TV with component input so I was wondering if an LCD with DVI can be used with both. My current APPS (Vegas and Liquid) have this ability.

Any dual head graphics card will work for this purpose with Premiere Pro running Aspect HD 3.4. Your current card will likely support this. If MediaPlay can be set to do it, it will work with Aspect HD.

I agree with David that both the Edius Nx and Cineform plus graphics card give you video out but there is a difference between the two. The Canopus solution is full frame full resolution on timeline playback and Cineform is full res on scrubbing or pause but not on playback. I have seen the playback of Aspect using a nVidia card out to a HD CRT at NAB and didn't think it stacked up to what my Nx will do but I also saw Prospect which was going out 10 bit HD-SDI to a HD CRT monitor using I guess the same accelerated preview mode as Aspect and it looked great...so I don't know what the Aspect monitor out via video card problem was. I can say that Aspect CFHD in AE on a frame basis looks super on monitor out of Nx via the AE plugin....what I haven't seen is CFHD timeline playback(accelerated preview mode) on a true 1920x1080 LCD....
