In my experience (emphasis on "In My Experience"), it seems that most people associate better looking equipment with better results. Is it right? Absolutley not, for all the reasons that have been discussed throughout this and other forums. Does it happen? Every day.

Nice going Shannon! this line of work looks is all that matter.

Ha ha… funny, but also poignant observation.

Anecdote: I am hungry to work on anything right now, so I volunteered to ‘shoot’ the Christmas concert and play that my church performs annually. Invariably, they kind of shrugged me off as a novice (which, well… I am).
They kind of forgot that I was coming, and lo, I show up on the day of the event, all decked out with my gear, only to see some guy with a GL2(!). I am setting up and he speaks blankly, "nice camera".

I felt kind of sorry for him, as I surly made him look bad.
