1080i/24f and DSR-1500 A DVCAM Dubs-Timecode issue?

I know that the XLH1 uses HDV, which is MPEG compressed format, will I have Timecode issues if I perform an i.Link FIrewire dub to a DSR-1500A DVCAM tape? Do I need an SDI cable, or will Firewire alone do it? I asked about this earlier, if anyone has thoughts on this, please chime in. If this works, it could be a very low budget solution to making DV dubs from HDV, if they have access to a deck (through work or school), but little money for Dubs. Also, if you have a G4 like I do, and cannot invest in a G5, and cutting HDV is taxing on your system.

If you think you can convert HDV to a DV deck by just playing back HDV through Firewire, I doubt it would work. You can use the camera's downconvert function and dub through firewire and it should maintain timecode too.

D'oh!

Sorry, I didn't realize the XLH1 had a downconvert feature, that solves a lot of problems. Thanks!
