Back focus with the 20X IS HD lens ?

I'm a happy new user of the Canon XL-H1! But the notion of back focus is new for me (I've got a GL1 and a FX1 before).

So, is it necessary to adjust the back focus with the lens delivered with the camcorder, or is it only for the other lenses or the EF adapter ?
You may say that I've got to try, in order to see if I obtain a better sharpness, but I don't want to take the risk to put it out...

Thank you!

Yeah, you need to set it - in fact, every time you remove it you need to do it again - but once you have that lens' setting in memory, the camera will do it automatically... it's easy to set up in about a minute, just follow the instructions..

All right, Thank you Steve!

When activating the back focus setting my wievfinder went very dark (I was indoors). Don't know why. Had to increase the light a bit to be able to see anything except darkness. (Shutter and aperture controls had no effect.)

Use both PEAKING and MAGNIFYING button ON to be able to set the best possible sharpness, especially at wide.

Otherwise it was easy. I couldn't see it changed the factory setting of my combination anyway but better to be on the safe side.

Flange back adjustment needs to be done only one time per lens.

I'll expect the call. I only know what I read in the manual and on the forum and then followed the instructions.

regards

Mick
