ThinkSecret did report on the rumored Final Cut Extreme, but so far nothing new to report on that. They said it would debut at NAB, but it didn't, so... maybe it's coming, maybe it's nothing more than rumor?

Lets hope they are as OFF on the FCP-E price as they were on the RED price. I suspect they will launch a new version with the Intel Quad because it will give current quad owners a reason to upgrade...

At NAB this 'expensive' FCP was completely and utterly denied
by upper Apple Reps., however
another source who had worked for Apple said YES. HMMMMM.

There is also rumor that Shake is going through a shake up along with
motion. Could be related?

Funny. Apple just released an update to Final Cut Suite. Guess what? A full complement of support features for Sony's XDCAM.

So it appears they can support new formats when they want to. And they can do it in a timely fashion.

Huh.
