A wedding clip, with 35mm adapter 35 mm lens

Good focusing. A few questions:

- Did you use an external (or on camera) monitor for critical focus?
- Did you use it hand held? And if so what external support?
- Did you have a follow focus or just focus manually?

Thank you John, no follow focus, all hendheld, I just uploaded a couple of pictures from the set, taked from the footage shot with Canon A1 by my second cameraman.
I kind of hold the camera against my body, or on the shoulder, or put it on the chair, next time I may use the tripod, it hard to be able to catch "live moments" with the tripod, handheld shows more life ..
Now I find it's OK to focus with the stock VF, easier with 35 mm than 20x lens, I use peaking feature on camera.

I use the Letus35XL (whicj is in the image of the Mini)
I love doing handheld,but it is heavy so I use a "steady stick" that supports it from the waist.
I find it hard to focus with the stock VF (even with peaking)
(I have done shots with a Mini35 and felt this too)

I also focus with my hand (no FF)

John, I think you may've lost focus on the third shot, the first two look nice!
What lens you used? Great study, keep on coming with more of that.
Sorry, just to brag a little bit, I fell in love with Nikon 35mm F1.4 lens, could never achieve such a "smooth, creemy" look on anybody face, during my entire career as cameraman, talking about Betacam, DVCPRO 2/3 cams. 35mm just does it, it may look a little soft, I love it though..

Yeah the 35mm 1.4 is great
I thin the Letus Maginifies the image in a way that the Mini35 doesn'y. so you get more of the frame than I do.
I end up using the 35mm and the 50mm 1.4
I also Love the 85mm 1.4 - what a gret peice of Glass!

Oleg, that was quite beautiful. You really captured the natural essence of the couple and I smiled watching it. It's so difficult to not make these moments look corny but the genuine happiness these two experience together was very obvious.

Steven, appreciate your comments. Shooting a wedding can be creative, having a little extra time helps. That was first wedding I decided to take 35mm adapter on a set, my friend told me "you have to be brave and shoot a wedding with it one day", so I did, just that early part that builds on intimacy and expectation.
Pleased with the results, to say the least, it's a great tool to tell the story visually. Later on dirung the ceremony, switched to 20x lens, and relized how much easier to shoot "regular" way. Yet there is more latitude, forgivenes in shots done with 35mm, maybe due to lower contrast.
