All the 3-chippers out there are pretty darn good. I wouldn't get hung up on one feature either.

The XL-1S like it older cousin the XL-1 is a modular cam that allows you to easily adapt the cam for a variety of situations. There is now a stable of lenses available, various mic adapters, a hi-res b/w viewfinder, and other neat things.

The PD-150 has also proven itself to be an excellent workhorse. It is popular worldwide and offers a more compact form.

The best thing to do, is first determine the market you want to in and then try before you buy.
