which brand of MiniDV is the best??? at DVinfo.net

hey guys, i recently purchased an XL1, i hear you should run the same brand of MiniDV through it as often as possible. however i dont know which brand that may be. sooo what is a good process for starting over with a different brand. do i have to run a head cleaner through it? or a blank tape?

also which brand of MiniDV is the best. the distributor my company uses offers JVC MiniDV's. i get them for about $2.30 a pop. tho i guess overall they are pretty cheap. best to go with best quality.

I've always used Maxell. One thing to keep in mind is once you choose a brand and it works, stick with it. There's all this talk about wet/dry tapes and whatever, and you can avoid a lot of that mess if you just keep using one brand of tapes.

Also, try to avoid Sony tapes. I've never had much luck with them.
