Recording from another camera?
 

I hooked up my Sony to the XL1s to record some stuff. The Sony won't work with the FCE. So I recorded everything and put it in the computer. But for some reason the mic on the XL1s was recording too? I also have FOX news in the Audio. What did I do wrong? I put Line on in the audio 2 in the VCR set up.

If you're using the XL-1s, I'd guess you didn't engage the record button on the playback control (at the top of the handle). It sounds like you just hit the record button on the camera. Check your XL-1s manual and try again.

And maybe you had FOX news on in the background when you did it. If you did, thank you. I shoot a couple stories a week for FOX (using the XL-1s, BTW).

No I used the record button on the handle. I'll look at the book again.
I always have FOX news on. Sometime when you have something on FOX tell us. I'd like seeing the XL in action!!

If you saw any of the Colorado fire footage last summer, you saw XL-1s footage. I shot lots of the stuff FOX used.

Actually, many of the FOX affilliates are using XL-1s' for the rugged stuff. CNN bought a bunch of them, too.
