Looking at light.

I know I'm not suppose to point the camera at the sun, but will it hurt my camera to point it at bright lights? Is too much light bad for my camera? How bad?

Anything with too in it is too much <g> ... Gradually increasing
light might indicate what will be the maximum. Ofcourse ND
filters help out here

I've never experimented to the point of permanent damage, but I would think if you've done damage it would be immediately obvious. The only thing to damage would be the CCD. Having a general knowledge of science, I would say there are few lights around that studio that have the same properties as the sun, and therefore I would venture to guess that we'll be ok. I've personally done a slow pan by a 10K at night with no damage to my GL2.

I'm sure someone at Canon could tell you just how much a CCD can take??
