Help! no pic in VF

My XL1/s has been great for the past 1 1/2 yrs. The other night I went to turn it on and nothing came on in my viewfinder. The battery shows full charge, my tape deck motor seats and is functional. I trouble shot what the manual says and nothing. Has anyone else experience this? Is it service center bound?

First the obvious. Check the cable. If that's not helping can you
tell us if there is no signal on the display (ie, you don't see it
getting brighter when you power up the camera) or is it just
a blank screen but getting a signal? In the last case you probably
need to hit the EVF/display button near the color bars button
(one setting turns of the data on the display which may look
like the display is not working if you are in recording mode and
have the lenscap on).

Had this exact same problem a couple weeks ago. The wire was loose between the eyepiece and the camera.

That was it! Whew! Totally missed the cable from the cam to the eyepiece. Thanks!
