XL1 and Canon Printer

I Have had the XL-1 for a while, and i recently purchased the canon digital dye-sub card printer CP300, for use with my 10d. The new B&H Source Catalog just came out and on page 36 they advertise the printer with the xl1 as if you would be able to print stills direct from the xl1. Is this possible, does anyone know. it would be nice to make storyboards from pre-shoot footage.

there is a "photo" button on the XL1S but I've never used it and most people I know who have the camera have disabled it or covered it so it can't be accidentally used.

I would look in the XL1 manual first off and then on the canon website, I'm sure it's got to be either place but I've never even though of using a printer connected to my camera.

Does the printer have a firewire connection?

bye the way, the printer only has the 2 usb inputs, no firewire

No, John. The Canon CP-300 printer only supports certain Canon digital cameras that feature the "PictBridge" facility. The XL1 records its "stills" as several seconds of freeze frame onto tape.

I do believe that I've seen software that can be used to produce storyboards from footage but I sure don't recall what it was.

See this thread for a description of PictBridge.
