I'm really pleased with how these message boards are taking off, and I want to thank everyone for signing up and joining in.

Please limit the topics in this particular forum to discussion of the XL1 / XL1S camera and its operation *only* -- recently I've had to move several threads from folks who have the camera, but were talking about something else...

For example, "I have an XL1 and I'm looking for an editing system." The actual topic of such a post is editing systems, not the camera, therefore it doesn't belong in this camera forum.

Please use "General DV Discussion" or other appropriate forums for topics not relating directly to the operation of the XL1 / XL1S.

I'm new, so appologize if my question regarding using LCD mini-monitors mounted to my XL1s is inappropriate, but now I'm really confused. Is it or not? If not, where would I post this type of question?

Welcome to DVinfo John. If your question is specifically related to the camera I don't see anything wrong with posting it here. However, if it's more about the monitors themselves then it would fit in better in our monitors forum here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=112

That's probably a better place, and you can just indicate in the thread title that you want to use it on an XL1s. And for starters, try paging back through that forum and reading the old threads because there has been a lot of discussion on this topic already.
