random audio dropout after capture

Hi guys. The problem that appeared today was this.I capture 4 channel audio using scanalyser software (everyone recomends)and then import folder into Premiere 1.5. I have done so before no problem but this time on a new project the audio from stereo 1 gets a little pan or balance problem on playback in premiere.
I just tested it and I am pretty sure that the problem occured in the camera and is therefore on the tape. At the same point the audio pans a little from stereo to right channel then back to stereo. Any ideas why this may be happening. Should I just audio fill to prevent this being apparent in Premiere. Look forward to a few ideas. Thanks
Canon XL1s, Premiere Pro 1.5, Canopus Storm 2.

With what where you recording? The on board mic (for that channel)?
What where the audio settings, full manual or auto?

If on auto then there is no telling why it decided to change some
of the audio settings. If manual you might have accidentily changed
one of the knobs? Otherwise the connection of the mic might be
a bit loose or something?

I've also moved your thread to the XL1(s) forum, since this is not
a problem with Premiere (as you describe).

In fact, the title of this thread is incorrect as well since a dropout
is where you would not hear any audio at all. But we'll leave that
standing for now.

I think the audio issue was on the tape. After about 4 minutes the audio improved and no more issue.

No problem, I will make sure I post in the correct section next time.
