head cleaning
 
hi gang,

i need some advice/ help please.

i been using only sony tapes for my xl1-s, and would like to rn a head cleaning tape. should i use also sony, or can i use any other brand?

Any reputable brand will work fine. The trick is not to mix recording tapes because of the differing lubricants, which may gum up on the heads.

I use Sony tapes also, on my XL1s's, but the cleaning tape is JVC.

that's exactly why i am so confused. been reading about different tape thickness, lubrication and what not.
