ZGC: PAL XL1S body for $2400. Is this a good deal

I noticed ZGC is selling PAL XL1S body for $2400 (Reg Price
$3450). Could this be true? OR is canon releasing a new model
of XL1S.

Well, If I buy this and a Canon 16x Manual Servo Zoom
Lens, won't it be less than a Canon PAL XL-1 Standard Package
($4850). Am I missing something here?

I don't think there's a viewfinder included with the body, and I'm just guessing with the full kit you'll get some accessories like battery charger etc. that you might miss when buying the separate items - which might explain the difference in cost.

$2400 for a PAL body seems like a decent price to me though.

Their discription seems to imply that one package has the color viewfinder and the other has a B & W viewfinder. Call them to verify, so there is no confussion. If it includes everything but the lens, it's a great price.

seems like a good deal indeed, if it is an xl1s although it only mentions xl1. I emailed them and will let you know if it is indeed an xl1"S".

well it seems it may be a good deal but only on the XL1 not to be confused with the XL1S..........this is the response from ZGC. "Thanks for the inquiry. The PAL cameras that we offer at the moment are the original XL-1 camera. Canon has not release the New version of the camera (XL-1S) here in the states as of yet."

In the above post, Francis is referring to the PAL system XL1S.
