Sennheiser EW100
 

I've just aquired a Sen ew100. As you know, it has a single (twin Jack) that will plug into the normal on-board mike inputs.
Is there a way to use both mics at the same time without buying the MA adapter.

If you record in 4-channel mode you can use up to 4 mics, or the standard stereo mic and up to two external mics. The external mics connect to the Audio2 input jacks. This selection is made form the menu, and you will have to set the appropraite input levels iat the menu. Many wireless systesm can drive the audio2 inputs without special adapters or convertesd other than perahsp a mini-phone to rca adapter. Note that the output of yor wireless may be balanced. If so, connecting it to the XL1 mic jack will result in equal but out of phase sound onthe left and right channel. If mixed to mono, you get virtually no audio due to phase cancellation.

Note that 4-channel uses 12-bit, 32 kHz sample rate which is half the 16-bit, 48 kHz sample rate of standard 2-channel recording. This makes it about FM radio quality sound, adequate for most field work.

Note however, that some NLE systems cannot capture 4-channel sound, and a third party capture utility, or other work around may be necessary.

The Sennheiser has a single jack. Are you saying I need an adapter to plug this into the Audio 2 sockets? Is this the mini-phone to rca adpter?

Yes, you can go to Radio Shack and my an adapter for each wireless receiver.

Regretfully, I do not have the part number with me today.

This is a Mono to Mono, Phone to Phono Shielded Plug Adapter.
It accepts a 1/8" mono mini phone plug and the adapter plugs into a RCA phono jack.

The item cost me $2.99 when I purchased it in 2004.
