Higher Speed Shots?
I'm contructing some physical dampeners for my (not bought yet) XL1S but I was just wondering if anyone has tried high speed shots?
|
What are "physical dampeners"?
What do you mean by "high-speed shots"? The XL1s shoots at 30 frames per second, as do all other standard NTSC video cameras. |
I think he means high speed shots like in car chases or any "high speed" action.
The dampers might be to dampen video shake at high speed? But I don't really know:) That's what I got out of the message anyways. |
clear things up
Yes sorry I should of been more descriptive but I remember seeing some footage shot with an Xl1S where it began to scamble past a certain speed. The author or the site I happened to read that did mention he wasn't using and physical stablizationo however he did have the digital one enabled...I was just curious is anyone has any expierence with this.

Frank,
I think you're referring to optical image stabilization (OIS) -vs- digital image stabilization (DIS). The XL1s' standard 16x lens has OIS. DIS, a cheap electronic stabilization technique for daddy-cams, is largely useless for professional cameras. When you get your new XL1s spend a day with the manual and experimentation to get a basic feeling for it. |
