Cineform and TMPGEnc software.

Does anyone know if Cineform CFHD .avi files and TMPGEnc software get on with each other.

Is there a worthwhile advantage to using this encoder over Adobe's licenced MainConcept encoder for DVD-Video disk builds.

Advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, very well actually.
What advantage are you looking for?

For me, it provides much cleaner MPEG2, much better deinterlacing capabilities.

Nice interface for tweaking data rates, frame size, etc. A Swiss Army knife for outputting and converting.

On previous tests of MiniDV it seemed to work better. With groundglass relay imaging, I need to have as little resolution and colour fidelity loss as I can possibly get.

The "free" version ran out after 30 days before I got round to test it with CFHD and the donkey trap will not let me un-install and re-install. So before I buy in the real thing I wanted to know if would stumble in its dance with Cineform.

Be rest assured /

Been using Prospect and TMPGenc for the past year.

TMPGenc proves to be the best bang for your buck.

I used Aspect in CS3 and got faded colors and greys instead of blacks with the MainConcept encoder. I now frameserve with DebugMode to Tmpgenc. Colors are great, blacks are black. Worth the hundred bucks.
