Newbie Question re Re-Naming Clips

New to Cineform Neo and this forum so please bear with a very basic question. (I did a search on this but came up empty) I edit with Vegas Pro 8 b and use Neo to capture footage from my HV30 that I shot on my Canon XH A1, all wonderful products. My very beginner's question is; when you capture a clip, Neo assigns its own file name to it. I can't see anyway of renaming this clip from within Neo, while the clip's characteristic is still fresh in your mind. The next place I can get my hands on the clip to give it an identifying name is Windows Explorer. If I've captured many clips, this makes things a bit time consuming in having to open the clip, view it to see which one it is, and then rename it. If some of you could share how you rename clips from within Neo or what your workflow is in this instance I'd really appreciate it. If there's already a thread on this perhaps you could point me towards it.
Many thanks in advance,
Sprague

Hi Sprague,

In the "Prefs" window, you can specify the base capture name of a clip. The default is "CFHDCap". For instance, if you're capturing an entire tape, you may want to put the tape's name here. Or, if you plan on capturing a series of shots at a time, you may choose a name that fits that scene best.

If you have scene split selected, it will keep the base name and append a scene number to each scene it captures.

An option you have is to have an explorer Window open with "Thumbnail" view selected so that you can get an idea of each clip by its thumbnail.

Hi Tim,
Many thanks for getting back to me. That really helps a lot and will set it up like that.
