error "Error Compiling Movie. Unknown Error"
 

I am trying to export my timeline and I am getting the above error.
The video and audio is out of sync, but most of the times the movie won't play in Windows Media player.

Or: Premiere CS 3 crashes, or export movie hangs.

Some times at a certain point of frames, some times it seems at random.
I have tried different solutions in search of bad frames, bad titles, bad audio...
No positive results.
Sometimes RAM memory goes up to 65%, then Pro CS3 crashes.


Latest Aspect HD build: 5.4.1.124

Timeline is 18 minutes long, 4 layers of video and audio.
Searched the forum, tried with previous Aspect HD versions, but everything failes.

My discs are defragged,
Intel Pentium core to 2
One dedicated drive and Raid 0
2Gigs of RAM
Windows XP sp2
All updates Pro CS3

I am at a total loss here.
I am using this system with no internet for nearly 2 years now.
Nothing changed on the hard- or software.

Imported clips on the timeline [30 minutes] and exported without cutting.
Used clips were the same footage of the movie mentioned above.

Adobe just crashed with no error at appr. 55% of the timeline.

Tried it second time around.
Flawless!
I am getting crazy here.
No error, and perfect sync...

Project related?

Go into the compiler settings are turn threading off, Premiere is simply running out of memory.

Done that, doesn't help.

Memory usage jumps up and down.
Filled all the audio blanks, have put black video under the titles, lessended the video tracks, nothing helps.

I am now back at version 5.3.1.169 and trying to export.

Any thoughts about the audio and video not sync?

If it is in-sync on the timeline and not in sync on export that is a Premiere bug, we don't control that element. I know realize that is in odd behavior for memory issues with Aspect HD as it is 8-bit not 32-bit. You should submit a trouble ticket.

version of Aspect doesn't matter: now I'm back to: 5.3.1.118

I managed to export in 2 files.
Audio and video are sync

Don't know what did it...

Another update:

I have succeeded in exporting my other timeline by dividing it in 4 seperate timelines.

I guess it has something to do with the memory handling of CS3

..and another one:
Succeeded again, but my timelines are limited to approx. 5 minutes each.
Well, it's a workaround;-)

I've had this problem, too, when exporting a timeline to Cineform. A couple of times it has crashed right at the end and otherwise appears to have done the job. The exported Cineform avi files look and sound fine. Are they safe to use? Or is there some arcane and complicated thing that happens when the end of file is written that means I should try again?

There was one file I couldn't get sorted out. I used it with the 'error etc.' after checkin' video and audio.

Didn't notice a problem, not on Blu-ray disc either, but I prefer my Cineform Avi's without an error ;-)

In this case, I decided to go on.

Me, too. I've just been trying again:
created a new Cineform project and imported the troublesome project (Blackmagic) into it. Then exported Cineform avi as before. Each section around 20 minutes long - and seems to have worked OK. No crash. No unknown error.

Of course, your mileage....
