CineForm Decoder

Hi!

I need to play a 10 min. 25 fps 4096x768 CineForm clip with sound (stereo Wave 44,1kHz 16 bit) on a client's computer (an exhibition). The signal is divided to 4 projectors (1024x768 each) What are the equipment requirements (computer) for this? Is there a way to use this format for playback only without buying a license?

Best,
Michal

The Neo player is free for download.

Michal,

Regarding HW specs, you're probably on the edge of being able to do this playback on a single Core 2 Duo, so you may need a single Quad core instead. You'll have to test.

Regarding license, as long as you (or your organization) download, install, and use the machine you're fine using the free Neo Player license. The license does not allow you to download onto a system then resell the system for commercial value if Neo Player is part of the value of the machine.

By the way, hopefully you have a DirectShow filter or other technique to split the decoded signal into four quadrants for the projector. The CineForm decoder will produce a series of 4096x768 frames that you'll have to split for the projector.

David,

Thanks for the answer. What directshow filters could you recommend? I have a quad video display card, aren't they included with the drivers? What player to use then?

Best,
Michal

Michal, that is not a question for CineForm. I assume for partitioning your display into four projectors you must have a driver somewhere that breaks single video frames into quadrants for your display.
