Whereas with CS3, one has to create a desktop preset, in PE7 that choice isn't available, so which one to choose?
I've been using the AVCHD preset and it all seems to work fine. Is this the recommended one?
Yes. Elements doesn't let you make custom presets like Premiere does, so you will need to choose a pre-existing one. Just make sure its one that matches the resolution and framerate of your source footage.

"Support solved the Elements 7 problem. I had to load a file, im-CFHD_File_Import.prm, into the Elements Plug-ins\en_US folder.

Now, what about the Cineform AVI fixer? The command still looks for a target script file, CFRepairLaunch.vbs that doesn't exist."

Mine has this file but no options show up in Premiere Elements for the creation of a Cineform-based timeline. Is matching it up to the proper resolution/framerate the way to go? Premiere Elements AND CS4 are crashing a lot lately after my NeoScene installation.
