small feature request for still cams

Hi

We have shot a lot of time-lapses for one documentary with canon 5d - they take up a lot of pace, maybe we could get a converter utility to convert these to CF RAW? Original post was done in 2K so RGB down-convert made sense, but would be nice to have a compact RAW workflow for these cameras as well.

Thank You

Start calling Canon requesting in camera CineForm RAW, as there is no added value to back samples to RAW a 1080p 4:2:0 8-bit compressed image. Useless you are talking about a sequence of camera stills, then CineForm RAW would be a huge workflow advantage and datarate saving. The problem is in is not a big market (yours is only of a couple of requests) so how to pay for the development.

So we only need a way to pay for it.

There is a tutorial using Genuine Fractals for converting a batch of still into a movie..
I couldn't find it but you might contact the Genuine Fractal folks and they should be
able to help you....

Premiere, After Effects and I think even Photoshop Extended can all import a sequence of stills and export back out as a video clip, in whatever codec you have installed.

But maybe I am misunderstanding your question ... ?

All of these methods will convert the data to RGB.
I have been using CF for archiving for a while now, It seemed to me a good plan is to archive as much of the original as possible.
