How do you regard First Light?

Probably a dumb question, but one that I'm not clear on.

What is First Light intended to do? Can one regard it as a color corrector or is it used to just set some basic light settings with actual color correction to come later in the workflow?

It is called "First Light" for a reason, as it is primarily design to correct image issues before an NLE messes things up, and final color tweaks are applied on top of the First Light changes. However, there are many using it for final grading. Totally up to you.

Just started playing with it. Pretty cool program. Any chance we'll be seeing scopes in future versions?

Thanks, Marc

Yes, but histograms are going in first.

Great, thanks.

concept is very nice though it is in early stages. i used it for a 3 hr final output project and it worked a treat. Rendering took a long time though but it could be just the early stage cineform was with cs4 which contributed to the long rendering.

I would like to see in no particular order:

1. Scopes
2. Integration with CS4 so i dont have to launch seperate application
3. Secondary color correction
