MXF files not supported/Prospect 4K

I'm on a Vista 64 bit PC and just updated to the new version. However HDLink will not encode MXF files. The message I get says "format not supported."

Any thoughts?

MXF - Many eXchange Formats -- none of which are compatible. So what camera, compression type, frame rate and resolution?

For the Panasonic cameras, you need to have the P2 drivers and the P2 viewer installed before trying to convert it with your CineForm software. You can find these with a google search. Once those are installed, confirm that you can play the mxf files in Windows Media Player. Then HDLink should be able to convert them.

Thanks. Installing P2 driver and P2 viewer software from Panasonic was the answer. Should have been able to sort that out for myself, but I guess there's just too many software changes and gotcha's inherent in working with HD.

The minute I get my head caught up with Cineform, I have to stay current on all the little do's and don't s with CS4, Mocha, R3D files etc etc, whether to use cineform or stay native for a project that combines mxf and red files etc.

Bitch, bitch, moan, moan.

That is the TRUTH right there... what a royal PITA for something that was SUPPOSED to make media exchanges easier...
