Neo scene transcode to Quicktime error

When transcoding ACCHD clips that are around 5 mins or longer the transcode is unsuccesful. error file"not a quicktime movie" I'm running final cut pro 6.0 on a 2.66ghz Intel Mac Pro Dual processor... Any help appreciated

Thanks,
Reggie

Is that error after the transcode? What version of NeoScene do you have?

Reggie Moser August 7th, 2009 08:33 AM

Yes the error is after the transcode and cineform sent me the latest version 1.0.7, but I'm still having the same issue.

Craig Davidson August 7th, 2009 11:27 AM

The latest version is 1.0.9b16 posted last week. It sounds like the conversion is stopping for some reason and never writing the file.

What is the camera source?

We detected an issue with synching, and David's group attacked and resolved the problem in another thread yesterday, and posted a temporary download link for the fix. Not sure if this is your fix, but here is post:

"Here is early access to what we currently think is the next release version:

Neo Scene : http://www.cineform.com/downloads/Ne...121-090806.zip
Neo HD : http://www.cineform.com/downloads/Ne...217-090723.zip

The rest to follow tomorrow. "

Chris, Reggie is on a Mac, so it is a different issue.

Reggie Moser August 7th, 2009 12:19 PM

I'm using a Canon HF S10

Chris Barcellos August 7th, 2009 12:22 PM

Okay, sorry....

Reggie Moser August 7th, 2009 12:26 PM

Here's the interesting thing....I've been chosen to beta test ClipWrap 2.0 and it does exactly the same thing when trying to transcode clips that are 5 minutes or longer..... If I choose the Rewrap(don't alter video samples) output format it works perfectly giving me H.264 files which you guys know is hard to edit.

Sounds like we will need a 5+ minute file from you. Can you please upload one to ftp://ftp.cineform.com/pub/incoming/

Thanks

Reggie Moser August 7th, 2009 12:43 PM

David I have clicked on the link what are the steps to upload the file?

David Newman August 7th, 2009 12:53 PM

On a PC you just copy that into the address bar of a file Explorer window and drag your files into it. On a Mac (as shipped) you have use a shell and ftp command. Doesn't that seem backward? The fact that you are asking means you likely don't want to use the shell.

You will want a tool like:
FileZilla - Client Download
Cyberduck | FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Cloud Files & Amazon S3 Browser for Mac OS X |
Fetch Softworks

I just searched on "Free FTP Client for Mac OS X"

Reggie Moser August 7th, 2009 01:04 PM

I've downloaded FileZilla but not quite sure I know what I'm doing...lol It shows Local site and in that field I entered: ftp://ftp.cineform.com/pub/incoming/ not sure where to upload file

David Newman August 7th, 2009 01:34 PM

ftp://ftp.cineform.com/pub/incoming/ is the correct location to upload to, simply drag or transfer files into that location. You will not see the contents of that direct, it is write only for security.

Reggie Moser August 9th, 2009 01:41 AM

David I uploaded a test.mts file.

Thanks
