Composite editing with Cineform codec

Read some guys ripping the HD10 on the DNM forum due to the footage being difficult to do composite work with. No real shock as its mpeg2. Opinions were then raise on how the Cineform codec is little better, as per his viewing of demonstrations at Cebit/NAB (not sure)
What are the capabilities of Cineform as a compositing codec? Is this just more HD10 bashing?

Ken,
I wasn't able to find the posts you mentioned so I can't directly comment, however I can say the CineForm codec is designed for compositing work so I can't imagine a valid argument. This should be even more clear with the release of Prospect HD which uses 10bit YUV 4:2:2. We see upgrades in the future for film digital intermediate work.

I hope that answers your concerns.

Thanks David.
I couldn't find the thread myself or I would have given you a link.
It came to me in an e-mail of last weeks "Hot topics" which I have since deleted.
Ken
