CineForm files have stopped playing in WMP

All of my CineForm files have mysteriously stopped playing in Windows Media Player. They also will not play in Stereoscopic Player and in Premiere (as far as I have been able to deduce thus far) CF files will load and scrub but not play. CineForm files will play in GOM Player.

I have deinstalled and reinstalled P3D. I tried rolling back to an earlier version with the same result. I deinstalled and reinstalled Stereoscopic Player.

I'm considering rolling back the computer to a date (a day or so ago) when I last was able to play CF files. I do not recall having installed any new software or drivers in the past couple of days.

Many thanks for any thoughts.

A little more information about this problem:

All files created with R2CF (express) will not play in WMP or Stereoscopic Player but do play in GOM Player and Quick Time Player.

All of these files were playing fine on this computer a couple of days ago. All of these files will play on my laptop coming from the same external HD.

Cineform files created through HDLink (Canon M5D MII) play without problem. CineForm express files that have been processed in the past in PP and exported as CineForm files play fine.

For anyone experiencing a similar problem...

I rolled the computer back a few days to when I was sure that I had been able to view CineForm files in WMP after the restore to the earlier date all is well - I am able to view all files in both WMP and Stereoscopic player as before.

The only alteration of the computer I can recall during those days was the installation of MS XPS viewer which it turns out I don't need anyway. I, of course, cannot say that XPS viewer caused the conflict or problem - that's simply the only change I can remember making to the computer.
