Prospect HD vs Cineddr?

Hi,

I'm just wondering if someone can clarify the differences between Prospect HD and Cineddr for me. Cineddr is quite expensive, but doesn't Prospect HD do exactly what Cineddr does and more?

What exactly is the workflow differences between Cineddr vs Prospect HD? What does one do that the other can't?

I'd really appreciate getting some clarity on this, thanks :-)

ProspectHD is a software solution used in post production, i.e. editing after the shoot.

CineDDR is a hardware/software solution for direct to disc live recording, performing the capture and encoding into CineForm real-time during the shoot. You don't have to digitize a tape or download a memory card and convert it to CineForm. It's already loaded on a RAID that's network accessible by the editor, so you can capture a scene and have it immediately available for the producer's and editor's review.

Comparatively, CineDDR is a replacement for a $100K (-ish) HDCAM SR deck, except that it records CineForm files to disk instead of tape. CineDDR software, plus an AJA Kona card with a modern i7 PC has the same control and data interfaces as SR at about 1/10 the system price of an SR deck. The likely customers are ones that own SR decks or are contemplating new SR decks.
