Aspect HD and CS5?

I have a copy of Aspect Hd (version 5.2.3.104) and whenever I try to install it on CS5 I have issues. Has anyone tried it out successfully?
When I try to install it I get an error saying "Could not locate Adobe Premiere Pro plugin registry key.". It doesn't sound like too difficult of an issue to resolved by changing the registry settings...I can't do it thought.

Rafael, Aspect HD will not work with CS5. Remember its final release was a couple years ago - it knew nothing at the time about CS5. You should upgrade to NeoHD: Cineform Tech Blog Blog Archive Announcing Neo Family Version 5

The thing is, for the amount of video editing I do these days I'm not really going to pay 350us$ to upgrade, but I DID buy aspect HD and I'd like to still be able to use it whenever I want.

You can always use an earlier version of Premiere.

Perhaps you should look at NeoScene

I'll preface this by saying I've just upgraded happily to NeoHD5.

Nevertheless, I think Rafael is asking a reasonable question. It still valuable to have a near-lossless codec available on one's system - I use the CFHD codec with Vdub, Avisynth etc as well as Premiere. Further, it's an oversimplification to say AspectHD "doesn't work" with CS5 - the acceleration features etc don't, but it's still possible to choose CFHD as an avi compression option, and CSF5 will still happily import CFHD files.

And HDLink still does it's thing fine.

Rafael can regain that functionality by installing an older version of Premiere alongaside CS5, but a small registry tweak file would sure make his life easier on that front.

On reflection, I was hasty in what I said above - I was forgetting the 64-bit OS thang.

Perhaps the Aspect version of the CFHD codec doesn't work at all, for anything, in 64-bit Win 7??? I can't test myself .... but if so please ignore my post.

Aspect HD features can't work in CS5 as it requires 64-bit components. Downloading the free decoder will allow old AHD files to work in CS5, although a 64-bit encode license is required to produce new CFHD files within CS5. NeoScene lowest entry point of a 64-bit encoder.
