Old Files and Layering Problems

Hi,

I am talking to support already but i want to check in with the community to see whether this is isolated to just me or whether anyone has experienced similar problems. I have two issues

1) Does anyone have issues when cineform renders something and the playback is not smooth? Playback is perfect when there's just cuts but as soon as i layer or add an effect that requires rendering i get choppy playback and/or freezing of the image whilst the sound continues. This is v5.0.3 and the cineform settings *seem* okay. I'd love to know whether this is just me, and/or whether anyone has seen anything similar. (If i remove cineform and do the same thing with an XDCAM or dSLR sequence setting then it works perfectly)

I can find the rendered file outside of premiere and it won't play back smoothly either. Yet the source file will.

2) How about rendering and crashing issues with cineform files from Prospect HD v3? I'm convinced these are randomly crashing PPro, especially when layered. They are parts from an old project. I've tried running them from HDLink again and that failed on a couple of the files which i then used CFRepair and did it again but the crashing remains. I am considering transcoding to DHxHD and then back into cineform but i have limited time as all this has eaten into work time now. So again, any community feedback would be great.

My system is a quad core, 8GB, windows 7 64 (recently installed), FireGL 5600, PPro 5.0.1. The same system worked fine with CS3 and cineform previously.

any feedback most appreciated
paul
