CS5 Media Encoder Slow Exporting
 

Hello,

I just put Adobe cs5 production premium cs5 onto a new install of Windows 7 64bit. I have a 4min 40sec Cineform file 1920x1080p 23.976, in Adobe Media Encoder I dragged the file onto the Encoder and choose a h264 template, YouTube SD preset.

All my cores in my HPXW8600 are showing 100% CPU over 8 cores and around 4.55Gb memory usage. The exporting time is taking a long time around 25mins.

I tested with a non Cineform file and it is a lot quicker the rendering.

You can turn off 32-bit float processing which is not offered for many other sources.

So the 32bit flat that is what is creating the very long render times? How do i turn this off in Adobe Media Encoder cs5?

Has anyone else had the issue when encoding from a Cineform file? It's literally taking 6 times longer, 4mins 40secs Cineform file 30mins, if I convert the Cineform into an Uncompressed Microsft AVI, then re-encode to another format from that uncompressed AVI it then renders like lightning to convert around 2mins 30 secs.

Make sure you have enabled a 3D mode like onion skin or anaglyph, you want see it, but it adds major CPU.

I am using NEO 4K, with regular 2d edits 1920x1080 422. I checked the Active Meta data, tab on the taskbar in Windows and it says 3d view, left eye.

So is this what is creating this slow down of exports?

No idea, as I'm not seeing anything like that -- export here a averaging 2X the timeline length on a desktop i7 (about 3X faster than CS4.) Support question I guess.
