The difference between Prores and Cineform Neoscene

Hello,

I've been a CS4 Premiere user since I'm windows based. I'm a Neoscene fan and I love how it works for windows.

I'm about to convert to MAC environment using a combination of Final Cut and CS5 (after effects). Should I still invest into Neoscene or use Prores? What's the difference and what are the advantages and disadvantages for one another?

I've been searching the web but I haven't found a concrete answer to it yet. Seems like everyone who are MAC are sticking to Prores that comes with Final Cut already.

Any info would be appreciated.

Yes the the PC it is easy choice, on the Mac if you have FCS, you do already have a nice codec (if you don't have FCS then choise is easy again.) On a Mac you would choose to add NeoScene for reasons beyond having a nice/fast immediate codec. Some of the reasons would be :
* for projects use PC and Mac tools -- and you can use a common codec with CineForm.
* You camera source have 3-2 pulldown. Many HDV and AVCHD camera benefit from Neo proccessing to get a true 24p file.
* You are working with HD-DSLRs, NeoScene processing help preserve dynamic range when stored in a codec CineForm.

If you upgrade to NeoHD, then FirstLight advantages kick in.
