Apple Color versus First Light

So i shot on the 5D, and converted to cineform. I love "First Light", but I'm red green color weak and need someone else to color correct the final project.

Of course it seems all colorist work in Apple Color... and if I'm correct, apple color cannot even read the cineform MOV files,

So is worth is to turn my original 5 D footage over, have them convert to pro res or whatever, load it up with an EDL, color correct in Apple Color and then convert to cineform to give back to me? Or should I just convince my non-color blind friends to come over and we color correct in First Light?

I guess I don't know what advantages Apple Color has over First light? I'm assuming masking would be a big thing, but what else? I know nothing about color correction.

Thanks
