existing firstlight projects contain no clips

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. All of my old firstlight projects just blanked out on me. I had saved groups of selects from various projects into separate firstlight project files so that I can easily open them and work on specific groups of clips. I also save all the Cineform files from each folder into one file for easy access. Today when I opened up my select FL project files they are all blank!

I did an apple software update yesterday which DID NOT include 10.6.5, so I doubt that has anything to do with this issue. If I create a new project file now the clips are still there when I close and reopen FL, so new project files are not affected.

Anyone having a similar problem?

I am on Neo3D Mac 5.0.27.158

I have heard of that. However you should update to 5.2.

The FirstLight project file contains the full path to the file name of the clips in the project. If you move a clip it will not be able to find the media again.

A reconnect option is on the list of things to add.

The project file itself is a text XML file, so if you do move clips you could use TextEdit and find/replace to fix the links.

Perhaps related to this problem:

Sometimes First Light looses some of the clips from a newly created project when it is re-opened for the first time. It is frustrating when you have been through an edit project to locate the clips, then half of them vanish from FL and you have to do it again.

Would it be possible to get some kind of output from Premiere, listing the clips in the edit project to open them as a FL project, I wonder? It would save loads of time, for us at any rate. Taking it a stage further, if you could arrange them in the same order as the edit project it would be better still!

Thanks Craig,

You are right the file path changed and this is why it broke. I opened up the text file and did a replace all on with the new file path and everything is working again.
