HDV sequence rolls horiz!

I've not done any HDV in a while but I captured in HDlink and have two clips that WinMediaPlayer is happy to play. Opened a new proj in PPro/CS5.02 and declared the Cineform 1440x108060i preset and the two clips play fine int he preview window. Placed on the timeline in a sequence with the same settings, it scrubs fine in the playback window but rolls violently on "play"....like an old analog TV with horiz synch way out of whack. Audio is fine. The playback is the same with OpenGL2 either off or on [I have a Quadro FX3800]. Cineform4K is 5.05 build 264. It played an HDV project a monthago just fine.
