DOWN SIZING TO 720 x 480 USING CINEFORM HD EXPORT WRONG "AR"

everytime i export a 1440 x 1080/30p Cineform File to either 720 x 480 (0.9) 4:3 or 720 x 480 (1.2) 16 x 9 using the Cineform HD export codec the Pixel Aspect Ratio is a bit off. the 4:3 letterbox is a bit to squished and the 16 x 9 is a bit squeezed.

here is a couple of examples of what i mean.

www.digitizedmemories.net/help/letterboxcine.jpg (letter box w/cineform HD Codec 720x480)

www.digitizedmemories.net/help/16.9cine.jpg (16x9 w/cineform HD Codec 720x480)

www.digitizedmemories.net/help/letterdvntsc.jpg (letter box w/ DV(NTSC)Codec 720x480)

www.digitizedmemories.net/help/16dvntsc.jpg (16 x 9 w/ DV(NTSC)Codec 720x480)

the DV(NTSC) frames are correct.

So what do i need to do to keep the correct pixel aspect ratio and still work with the Cineform HD codec as 720 x 480 files? i want to work with that codec because of the 4:2:2 color then i will down convert to dvcpro 50.

It is only a presentation error in media player. If you set the interpretation rules for the import SD CFHD file (to 0.9 or 1.2 as needed), you will find that the pixel data is correct. CFHD was only designed for HD resolutions, which are spare pixel or 1.33:1, SD modes were not planned for. In the next release we will have support for mediaPlayer using SD. This is already done in house.

nice, i would love to stick with 4:2:2 color for projects that i need to downconvert to dvcpro50 from HDV. that would be a HUGE advantage.
