Vegas 10.0c and Cineform

I just installed Vegas 10 and I'm using Neo HD 5 (latest version). I noticed that the export settings for Cineform from within Vegas are much more limited now. You no longer have the option for interlaced/progressive, aspect ratio, hd colorspace etc. All that is available is: Encoded format and encode quality (no higher HD setting).

Is this normal for Vegas 10 due to the changes in the sdk or has Sony not completed the features?

Thank you, Marc

As Sony in now in control of that GUI, I can;t confirm, yet the other features are likely controlled by the project settings (such as interlaced vs progressive.)

Re: Vegas 10.0c and Cineform

I now have two options when clicking configure in Vegas.

1. Encoded format: YUV 4:2:2, RGB 4:4:4, RGBA 4:4:4 (which one should I choose?)

2. Encoding quality (Higher HD is no longer an option)

Also I used to have the option of Decode/encode controls (ITU.Bt.709 (HD ) colorspace etc.) which are no longer available. Should I be concerned about this?

Thanks, Marc

Re: Vegas 10.0c and Cineform

1. You are only licensed for 4:2:2 with NeoHD.

2. "Higher" was the same as "High" but for special case with handling noisy/highly textured source, this was before there was Filmscan mode. No longer need "Higher".

If you are concern about colorspace, that is question for Sony. I'm assuming they are setting all the correct flags to match the colorspace of the project settings.

Thank you. Just so you know at present the 4:4:4 options are available and I'm able to render them.

I know, and you get a watermark if you use them without Neo4K or Neo3D.
