Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
Hello,
I use Vegas. I have an older version of Cineform, I capture from my HDV canon through HDlink. If I upgrade to Neoscene or better version, will I be able to convert HDV footage into some decent 1920 x 1080 footage using the Cineform codec within Vegas? Thanks Larry |

I have Vegas 11 Pro. I have Cineform upgrade (mid grade) and yes, in Vegas, you can render out to a Cineform 1920 x 1080 format. You may even be able to capture HDV and upconvert, but I haven't tried that.

hdlink in the preference allow you to upsample hdv to hd size. check in preference, also in very old version of cineform. i remember to do that in an old vrsion of 2006

No, I have HDlink, with NEO HDV and I don't have the option to convert HDV to 1920 x 1080.

Re: Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
You cannot upconvert with Neoscene.
Just edit in native resolution then export to 1920. |
Re: Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
Ah, and you export to 1920 with what?

Re: Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
That depends on the end product
H264 for BD and Youtube CF codec for an intermediate file. |
Re: Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
I know that.
What I was saying is that Cineform does NOT let me convert/export the final product to 1920. |
Re: Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
That is odd, i can set any resolution i want.
Did you unlock the width and height and set it to square pixels? |
Re: Converting 1440 x 1080 to 1920x1080
When I go to render as, within Vegas, I select AVI, then the cineform codec, and when I try the option 1920 it tells me my app is not licence to to that conversion. It's stupid, I do have a bought version of Neo HDV ad HDLINK on my machine.
I guess I need to upgrade? |

Note: 1920x1080 encoding is free with GoPro CineForm Studio. Keep NeoScene or NeoHDV installed, then install CineForm Studio on top for expanded, free features.

Ah, voila! Now I understand!
I only have Neo HDV, so I should upgrade to pro directly. |
