Problem exporting from Cineform to Quicktime

Hi to all,

I think this is the right place to post my question.
I have a 720 25p HDV video from a JVC HD100 and a demo of Cineform.
When I try to export the 1280x720 25p to Quicktime Sorenson 3 (always 1280x720) or to H264 (or any quicktime codec) in the video exported appears strange horizontal lines like a sync problem.

I try also to Flash Video FLV but always strange lines.
If I try to export a WMV9 HD or a DVDPAL there are no problems at all.

I use After Effects 7, this is a problem of Cineform or Quicktime?

thank you so much for your reply.

I just encoded up some 1280x720 p24 material as Quicktime Sorenson 3 and it looks fine. Maybe you can upload a short sequence and email be the link (click on my user name at DVinfo.net for email.)

I'm post my email response to seeing your clip here as I think it might help others.

The tearing you are seeing in not in the source material. If you step through your MOV file you will see that every frame is fine. The problem is the Quicktime player is not "double buffered" so it can introduce the tearing (" horizontal lines like a sync problem"). I played the some clip through a DirectShow player and it worked fine. Note: double buffering will not make 25Hz video completely smooth on a PC display, as most LCD refresh at 60Hz (25 doesn't go into 60 well -- 24 into 60 does a little better -- 30p is great for PC presentations.) If you have a CRT set your screen refresh to 75Hz and your 25p video will play smoothly.
