Best Way To Handle Widescreen DV
In Prospect, there are options for 1080i60, 1080p30, 720p30 and NTSC 720x480 DV with a .9 pixel ratio. Wide screen DV has a 1.2 pixel ratio.
What is the best way to handle it? I've tried 1080i60; however I'm getting jaggies in the output (MPEG DVD and WMV 480x270 square pixel). This video needs color and lumination correction; Prospect seems to be a major improvement over PP by itself with those corrections. However, the up-res down-res seems to be causing problems. Is there a way to handle 1.2 pixel ratio 720x480 DV directly? Thanks, David |

Don't seem like you are using Prospect HD presets. Here is the full list in the image below. Plus you can modify as preset as needed -- like adding a new framerate or pixel aspect ratio.

Definitely using the presets. The only non-HD presets are with a non-changable .9 pixel ratio. It is shown on the screen.
At first I tried the DV NTSC setting. But there didn't appear to be anyway to change from the .9 pixel ratio. David |

Nothing is "non-changable". Select the NTSC preset, then click on the "custom settings" and select the pixel aspect you want.

David,
Your right...my brain must be mush. It is there in the custom settings and I've got it going now. Sorry for having gone a stray. The video I'm editing was shot in a fairly dim room without lights (a party) and quite a bit of image correction is necessary. So I thought this would be a good test. So far, it definitely seems to help. Thanks, David |
