Cineform trial has killed my After Effects! Help!!

1 Attachment(s)
Many months ago I installed Cineforms Aspect HD software, had nothing but problems, and removed. Since then I have no longer been able to open After Effects 7.0. Whenever I try, I get the error message:

- See attachment -

I can't click anything...it crashes the program. I'm fairly sure that all of the cineform software is gone, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling After Effects with no success.

Help!!

If you install the latest Aspect HD and uninstall it will like go away -- along any fault you might have had previewously (try it first.) Also the uninstall askes if you would like decoder components left installed, answer no (your PC might be having a license issue with those components.)

If all else fails manually delete cfhd.dll from windows/system32

Thanks for the quick response David...trying it now!!

I downloaded and installed the newest trial of Aspect HD, and I'm getting the same error message when I try to install it....that the evaluation period is over and I must enter key. Even if I had a key, I couldn't enter it, as this is locking up the system.

I also deleted the file you mentioned...that didn't help either.

I really don't want to have to re-install windows...any other solutions?

You just ignore those message (I have to set installation on expired PCs all the time.) If you are locking up you PC has other issues. Back to the AE issue, the only components AE may use is :

c:\windows\system32\cfhd.dll

and (only if you haven't uninstalled)
...\Adobe After Effects 7.0\Support Files\Plug-ins\CFHDIO.aex
or (on very old installs)
...\Adobe After Effects 7.0\Support Files\Plug-ins\Standard\Format\CFHDIO.aex

If neither of those files exist, and it still complains, your AE installation is messed up.
