Photoshop CS3 Extended Movie Paint

Hi David,

Have you had any chance to test the Photoshop CS3 (Extended) "Movie Paint" feature with CineForm files?

This seems like a really cool feature, just hoping that Photoshop CS3 Extended can work with CineForm media without any issues.

Hi David,

I bit the bullet and bought the upgrade to Photoshop CS3 Extended. I decided to test the movie paint feature with some Cineform AVIs that were created from and HDV source with dropouts (meaning dropouts present on the HDV tape, thus present on the Cineform AVIs that I created from that source). I wanted to check and see if this was an easy way to touch-up dropouts or any other items that may need to be painted.

I loaded the AVI in Photoshop without any issues. This is really one great new feature in Photoshop. I made a few tweaks to the footage and went to export an new AVI movie, but I couldn't find the Cineform selections under the AVI options. So I decided to output it as a Cineform Quicktime - The options were there under the encoding choices. But the application brought up a Quicktime error box.

Is this because Photoshop is invoking the Quicktime compressor and not using the Adobe Media Encoder on output?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject.
