Prem Pro CS3 - Main Concept Codec

Good morning all,

I'm a new XDR owner. I've just purchased my unit from Polecam here in the UK.

I'm trying to work with some of the test records I have done with me unit in Premiere Pro CS3.

Having looked around around this forum for a couple of weeks I found the Main Concept Mpeg Pro HD codec. I installed it and ran Prem Pro. I still seem to be having issues importing the MXF files into it though.

Has anyone here got it working? If so what should my settings be in the XDR?

I'm able to use the Sony XDCAM viewer software to play my rushes at the moment though.

Cheers,

Stuart

Hi Stuart-
I think the Premiere folks and Main Concept guys are still trying to work out their differences on the XDCAM 422 CODEC integration. So, I don't think it's fully functional just yet. Edius, Vegas and Avid play our files just fine, however.

We have a new firmware update coming out this afternoon. So please drop a short message to: support at convergent-design.com and we'll add your name to the list for automatic notification.

The firmware will be available for download this afternoon from our website.

Best-
Mike

Just downloaded the new firmware and updated my unit.

I'm interested to try out the 35mbps mode in the morning to see if I am able to edit this footage in CS3 as its only 4.2.0 and should be supported, correct?

Dear Stuart,

Yes, correct.

This is the main reason why we added 35 Mbps 4:2:0 support.
