NanoFlash / EX1 mounting / connectivity wishlist

I guess some of the below have been discussed, but as a (hopefully) prospective NanoFlash user, I'd like the following:

1. Connectivity

- a short, flexible, yet high quality HD-SDI cable (those available in shops, or self-made from available components, are usually very rigid and / or unnecessarily long)

- a short, flexible HDMI cable (as above; many affordable field monitors have HDMI-in but not HD-SDI, so it's be nice to feed NanoFlash via HD-SDI input, while using its HDMI output to feed the monitor)

2. Mounting / Powering up

- ability to use the small U30 battery every EX user has spare, and rarely uses for the camera itself
- a short and flexible Hi-rose cable to power NanoFlash form D-tap output of the Coco-EX or SWIT battery
- a short and flexible Hi-rose cable to power NanoFlash from the PAG's PP90 output

- ability to mount NanoFlash on the cold shoe (when not needed for a lamp)
- ability to mount NanoFlash on the mPod cheese plate from RedRock

Well, that's about all :)

Dear Piotr,

1. Connectivity

- a short, flexible, yet high quality HD-SDI cable (those available in shops, or self-made from available components, are usually very rigid and / or unnecessarily long)

>>>We have made these. We have an ultra-thin, and another that is very flexible.

- a short, flexible HDMI cable (as above; many affordable field monitors have HDMI-in but not HD-SDI, so it's be nice to feed NanoFlash via HD-SDI input, while using its HDMI output to feed the monitor)

>>> We are working on these.

2. Mounting / Powering up

- ability to use the small U30 battery every EX user has spare, and rarely uses for the camera itself

>>> We have a solution for this.

- a short and flexible Hi-rose cable to power NanoFlash form D-tap output of the Coco-EX or SWIT battery

>>> We build these.

- a short and flexible Hi-rose cable to power NanoFlash from the PAG's PP90 output

- ability to mount NanoFlash on the cold shoe (when not needed for a lamp)

>>> We currently recommend a NEBTEK part for this, it is $30.

- ability to mount NanoFlash on the mPod cheese plate from RedRock

>>> I will have to research this.

Thanks Dan - exciting stuff!

Will any/all of these (minus the Redrock option) be available for shipment in June when the nanoFlash unit ships?

I'd love to have them all ship together.

Any photos/details of the BP-U30 battery option?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Dan again,

When referring to my power option list, you've omitted the PP90 (the 2.1 mm DC output from PAG). I understand this is not very popular in the US, but you may probably be interested to know that PAG has introduced battery mounts for the EX3 recently (distributed in the US by STE-MAN // DISTRIBUTOR OF FILM & VIDEO...) :

PAG Introduces Two Battery Mounts for Sony PMW-EX3

As a PAG user, I'd be very interested in having a PP90-to-Hirose power cable for the NanoFlash!

Hi Piotr-
If you have the specs on this connector, I am sure we can easily build a cable to connect to our 4-pin Hirose.

Best-

Hi Jim-
We should have most of the power cables (4-pin Hirose to D-Tap, XLR etc) available when nanoFlash ships. We should also have a custom 2-cell Li-Ion battery available. Mounting plates for other batteries will take us a bit longer to develop. (All our efforts are now devoted to completing nanoFlash hardware/software and reliability tests).

Best-
