Sony's New PMW-350 with nanoFlash

Dear Friends,

Alister Chapman has posted a very nice review of the new Sony PMW-350 camera.

Alister attached our nanoFlash to Sony's new camera during some of his testing.

Alister finds the new camera to be very desirable.

Alister did a very nice job introducing the new PMW-350 and the new EX1R. Great to see some footage in the review and with the Nano the PMW-350 is a winner for me. Look forward to downloading some full size clips off CD site.

By the way Dan the I-Frame clips I will send you are being shot on Thursday so Friday I will contact you about FTP info

Dear Paul,

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you clips.

We can discuss the FTP at your convenience.

...Alister. I downloaded and watched the MXF clip from the EX 350 camera. Wow ! Very nice for a 4:2:0 camera. It seems as though the greatest improvements Sony is making are in the ever decreasing noise levels in the video signal. The detail level keeps going up as well. Can you upload some some clips shot with your Nano (Or do you have the XDR ?). I would like to see the uncompressed output of this camera via its HD-SDI at 1920 x 1080 @ Long GOP 160 Mbps if possible on your Nano/XDR.

Release date and Price

Hey everyone,

Any information about when will it be released and how much will it cost?

Thanks

Aaron Newsome October 20th, 2009 10:46 AM

The cost is listed in the review.

The PMW-350 HDSDi Output is 4:2:2. The pictures from it really are remarkably clean. Really didn't want to give the demo unit back. been told the lens I had was not up to the full specs, so I'm hoping to get another to try very soon.
